Welcome to The Blood Bag Project, a craft project that aims to raise awareness of the rare blood condition Diamond Blackfan Anaemia. It also sets out to educate people on how important blood donation is, and encourage new donors to sign up!

The project has been set up by textile artist Leigh Bowser, who’s niece was born with Diamond Blackfan Anaemia. This condition means that her bone marrow was unable to make it’s own red blood cells. As a result, she received hundreds of blood transfusions throughout her childhood before having a life saving stem cell transplant!

So, get your crafting needle’s at the ready and get involved!
